One important key to life is self-confidence. An important key to self-confidence is preparation.

**PREPARATION IS KEY:
I think we can both agree that confidence is a complicated and sophisticated matter but with patience and time we can master it. In my opinion, we don’t totally lack self-confidence we just don’t have confidence in some areas of our lives. Let’s say maybe you can confidently play sports, cook, sing, talk to a camera (yes that’s a thing) but you shy out when you have to speak publicly. That doesn’t mean that you overalk lack self-confidence, it just means that you’re not confident when you’re doing public speaking. Don’t confuse the two.
Also by preparation I mean you have to practice hard and prepare for whatever you want to gain confidence in. If you’re going to an interview, fully prepare yourself, dress well and show up. I know that you’ll feel a lot more confident when you’re prepared than when you are not.
**GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD:
Just do it, don’t think too hard about it. Your insecurities are born in your head. If you want to actually start having self-confidence you have to start putting yourself out there and doing things outside your comfort zone. That way you’ll prove to yourself that you’re capable of doing many great things. Confidence is not something that you just take or gain then keep it inside you forever, you actually have to take action to gain self-confidence. The more you do it, the more you’re going to be good at it, the more you’re good at it then the more you’ll increase your confidence in it.
Confidence is like a muscle, you have to flex it every day for it to get stronger.
Unknown**FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT:
I know that you’re probably thinking like: OMG, give me something original. There’s a reason why people always say that fake it till you make it, It’s because it works. If you want to have confidence then act like you have confidence. Fix your posture, keep your head high and your shoulders back. Speak confidently, walk confidently, smile confidently and overall carry yourself with confidence (even if you don’t feel confident).
**LABEL YOUR EMOTIONS POSITIVELY: when you’re nervous, tell yourself that you’re excited
Studies have indicated that the symptoms of nervousness and excitement are the same which means that your brain cannot tell the difference. You get to tell your brain if you’re feeling nervous or excited. If you tell your brain that you’re feeling excited you’re going to be more confident than if you tell your brain that you’re nervous.
Remember that nobody is born 100% confident and nobody is 100% confident. Don’t rush the process, show yourself some compassion on your journey to self-confidence.
