Imagine meeting your future self. Your future self who is the best you. How does she walk? How does she carry herself? What is she wearing? Where does she stay? What is she doing for a living? What are her daily habits and routines? What does she have that you don’t have? & most importantly, what would she say when she meets you? ( Answer all these questions and be true to yourself when answering them).
You probably know that dreams that are not written down are just well, dreams. You also know that you are more likely to achieve a goal if you write it down, so let’s do that. I don’t want you to make a list of all the things you want in life instead I want you to make a Current Me VS Future Me drawing.

Let’s not judge a person by their drawing and by that I mean don’t me by my drawing.
As you can see, you have the current me on the right and the future me on the left. I want you to make the current you as realistic and authetic as possible. You can draw yourself in the exact clothes that you’re in right now.
In your future self page you can literally write anything that you can imagine. Don’t stop yourself from dreaming. Just dream, let it flow from thought to paper. Don’t try to figure out the game plan yet.
This exercise will help you see where you at right now and where you want to be. It’ll help you to define your perfectly imperfect ideal self by yourself. It’ll help you see and measure the distance to your best self. You will therefore be able to mend the distance between your current self and your future ideal self through action.
After seeing your goals you need to construct a plan. A plan to get there. I always create a game plan when goal setting because it guarantees me the chance to achieve my goals and because I have commitment issues therefore I can’t rely on my will power and discipline. Whenever I talk about goal setting I always say, “Break your goals down into smaller attainable steps.” So yeah, break down your goals and try to fit them in your daily life. Create routines and plant habits to help you get there. Take baby steps and always remember that life is a marathon, not a Sprint. What matters is the journey, not the destination.
You know what would make this exercise even better? If you can draw better than meπ.
Thank you so much for granting me this opportunity to express myself, always remember to give yourself the permission to do the same.
