Today I noticed how dirty my room really is. I’m not saying that because I scattered clothes all over my room totally forgetting the fact that I’m the one who has to pick them up at the end of the day. I’m saying that my room is really dirty at it’s core.
Most of the time I organize my room to make it clean and beautiful and hang motivational quotes to keep the vibes up. In everyone’s eyes my room looks perfect and put together but it has deep dark hidden dust and imperfections. It has spider webs in unlikely places. Places I only come in contact with when I reach deep down to pick up my favourite favourite pencil behind the well cleaned mirrors.
Nobody sees these spider webs except for me, the owner of the room. This could be an analogy for people. On the surface, people look put together and perfect. Everyone assumes that they have the best lives. We wish to have their lives without considering the spider webs we’ll find there. We don’t realize that they have spider webs because we’re all caught up in our own spider webs.
Sometimes we need to appreciate the dust and spider webs in our lives and enjoy cleaning them out because the answer can be as simple as picking up a broom and sweeping away. Sometimes it’s more difficult than that but sometimes we don’t even know about the spider webs because we’re so used to having the same furniture in the same place. We never switch it up and we’re too afraid to change our rooms. That’s too bad because we cannot pick up a broom to clean spider webs that we are not even aware exist.
