Imagine you have just auditioned to play the part of the superhero in a Marvel movie. You have been rehearsing this for months.

The day of the audition finally comes and you are more than prepared. You get there and you just lose every ounce of confidence you ever had. You lose confidence to an extent that you forget how to walk. You literally lose your walks!!

You get in front of the casting directors and producers. Guess what you do?? Yes, you wet yourself. You pee in your pants!! A grown ass woman!!

You feel embarrassed, extremely embarrassed. You cannot explain the emotional turmoil that is forming inside you. A sharp pain of disappointment hits you and you realize the shame you’ve just brought onto yourself. This is the most devastating moment of your life.

You feel tears start to well up. You try your best to hold them back because women never cry.

The directors and producers are now staring at you. Waiting to see your next move. Suzie the camera man is laughing at you hysterically.

This is what you do to hold back the tears :

Fix your posture, stand up tall (even if you’re short) and straight (even if you’re gay). Do some neck exercises while simultaneously making weird noises. Drop down onto the floor and roll around. When you feel like you’ve wiped the floor clean, lay down on your back and repeat this to yourself :

“You’re embarrassing yourself. You’re embarrassing yourself. You’re embarrassing yourself. You’re embarrassing yourself. You’re embarrassing yourself. You’re embarrassing yourself.”

Now stand up and walk out. If that’s too difficult crawl out. Whatever you do, make sure to get your ass out of there. You’ve embarrassed yourself enough!

Okay, this is by far the weirdest thing I ever wrote. I’m just having a bad day and I’m holding back my tears (which I know that I shouldn’t) and then this idea came and I went with it.

Don’t hold back your tears. If you want to cry, by all means cry. Give yourself permission to express your emotions without judgement.
