One of the biggest reasons why people don’t read is because they can’t find the time to read. They are busy, they don’t have the time to read. Or so they say.
Reading is important but not urgent so it’s very easy to not to do it and help ease your conscience by telling yourself that you are busy and you don’t have the time to read.
Someone once wrote that somebody being too busy for you is not a reflection of their schedule, it’s a reflection of your place on your schedule. This doesn’t just apply to people, it also applies to reading.
1. Find your why :
Why do you want to read more books??
Do you want to learn more about something in particular?? Do you want to be able to contribute more in conversations?? Or maybe you are tired of feeling left out when everybody is talking about books??
Write down why you want read more. Make sure it’s something that is important to you, a personal reason why you want to read more. And yes, your reason can be that you want to be a person who reads.
If it’s important to you then you’ll have an easier time finding time in your schedule to fit reading in.
2. Read before bed and before getting up :

Instead of being on your phone right before you drift to sleep you can have a book instead. You can read one chapter or a few pages before you sleep. Reading before bed has another benefit besides the obvious. It improves your quality of sleep.
You can also continue reading the book that you were reading at night in the morning before you get up. Once you develop the habit of reading and you find a good book you will want to stay in bed the whole day.
3. Carry your book everywhere :
Just like a water bottle. You should take your book with you everywhere you go. You are probably going to be known as the nerd who always has a book but do it anyway because you’ll never know when you can find the time to read.
You can read when you’re commuting to work. If you are not the one driving of course. You can read when your teacher is late. You can read when your friend is late. You can read… Whenever there’s time in your hands even if it’s just two minutes.
4. Read when you’re waiting in life :

The average person spends about 5 years of their life waiting in line. 5 years!! That is sweet, sweet reading time.
Since you now carry your book everywhere with you. It can be a physical book or a digital one, take it out and read. Before you complain… You were going to scroll on Instagram anyway but now you get to do something productive with your time.
When you’re waiting for your order, read. When you are queuing for the bathroom, read. When you’re in line to buy another book, read.
5. Listen to audiobooks :

Audiobooks are massive time savers because you can listen to them while doing a lot of things. You can listen to them while working out, while doing the dishes, while cleaning your room, while taking a walk or while driving to work.
If you truly can’t find the time to read I cannot recommend audiobooks enough.
6. Create time to read :
If you spend two hours everyday on Netflix, one hour on YouTube, three hours watching TV and four hours mindlessly scrolling. Then you can surely find three minutes to read.
Create the time to read because honestly if you don’t you will never just stumble upon time. Make reading a priority and put it in your schedule.
And that’s how to find time to read. If you have any advice on to find time to read, please leave it down below. Stay amazing and curious.

Great tips Ms flatela…I think the audio strategy is most effective because some people find reading to be more energy consuming than listening also listening is time effective than reading…
