He has seen it all. He has been through unimaginable situations that no man hopes to find themselves in, things they wouldn’t even wish on their worst enemy. He went through the depths of hell, burnt through flames and came back stronger. He conquered things no other men have conquered. He did things that were deemed impossible by mankind. He is superhuman. He has the strength of an ox and the persistence of a mosquito. Ladies and gentlemen, he is the man… The toughest man alive…

He is David Goggins!!!!!!
Who is David Goggins??
Many know him as a retired United States Navy SEAL and former United States Air Force Tactical Air Control Party member who served in the Iraq war. And many more know him as a mentally tough man who actively seek discomfort and loves pain and suffering. He is also an ultramarathon runner, an ultra-distance cyclist, an author and a public speaker.
I know him as the guy who has been on my lock screen and has been mentoring (he’s not aware of that) me for the past month.
Why is he the toughest man alive??

David went through three hell weeks in the span of one year before he completed his Navy SEAL training. He ran several marathons running some of them on two broken legs. Yes Sir, ran a marathon on two broken legs. He broke the world record of doing 4030 pull ups in 17 hours.

And he did so many things that are seem way out there. He attempted twice before he finally broke the world record. I remember this one time, the skin on his hands was coming off and there were pieces of his skin and blood on the pull-up bar but that didn’t stop him from breaking the world record.
David had a rough childhood. His father beat him, his brother and his mom up. His father did not just physically abuse them, he was emotionally and mentally abusing them too. He couldn’t read and spent a good chunk of his school life cheating to get by. He had a lot of physical illnesses and at one point his body was just breaking.
Why should you care about him??
There were a lot of excuses for David to not be successful. He was traumatised by his childhood, he was overweight, he was black (there were very few black people who were Navy SEALs at the time dunno bout now plus he encountered racism), he was poor, he couldn’t read. He had nothing but a dream, a very far-fetched one at that.
“Success is moving from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.”
David lives that. There were so many hurdles that he faced on his journey to success but he never let them get him down. He also picked himself up and fought back. No matter what life threw at him, he just kept going.
A man like him can teach you a thing or two about life.

Look out for my next post, I’ll reviewing his book Can’t Hurt Me.

Men of many talents indeed…I like the fact that you got inspired by a person who is far from and never met before but his actions spoke and inspired for the better. Have someone ever told you that they look up to you?
